Tourism booths are usually measured by footfall. At MATTA Fair 2025, we measured ours by sales.

Tourism booths at international fairs often end up as brochure rooms. People wander in, pick up a leaflet and wander off again. For Wonderful Indonesia at MATTA Fair 2025, we wanted a booth where people actually made decisions.
Start with behaviour, not destinations
Research on Malaysian travellers at Plaza Indonesia showed a real appetite for Indonesian local brands. That changed the question we were asking: what if a tourism booth could also be a place to shop?
That became the big idea, and the brief for choosing brand partners. Six Indonesian local brands were brought in as the main draw.
Activations that convert
A draw on its own isn’t enough. We designed interactive activations and a reward system so interest turned into sales on the spot. The key visual and collateral had one job: move people from looking to buying.
How it went
- 459 pax in transactions
- IDR 1.57 B in sales
- 57% of the 2025 target
What we took into the next project: a booth is a medium, and a medium needs a measure. When the measure is agreed at the start, every design decision has a reason you can explain to everyone involved.
